Marriage Go Round

Words cannot express what a great time we all had. The Rehearsal Dinner: Everything was the best. The food was soooo good and the fellowship was wonderful. Lots of new friends. Our families are so good together. Then came the Wedding of the Year - - - - Marc and Jennifer. It was so beautiful and just perfect (one minor snag - with the rings) The Reception: I had Sushi for the first time. Pink Salmon. I did not know it was Sushi. The Dinner: Yum--- Prime Rib and all the trimmings. The Dance: Marc & Jenn Magnone, Jenn & Dad, Marc & Mom, Jenn & David; Marc & Lanette; Jenn & Chris; Marc & Leslie --you get the picture. The Cake: Was beautifully simple with red and white. Grooms cake was a cascade of baseballs. Really neat. The Brides Bouquet: Since I knew the direction my strong left handed Grandaughter would be throwing the bouquet, I was ready. The lady in front of me jumped higher. The Garter: Guess I did not need the bouquet, Phillip caught the Garter. Guess who is next to get married?
Best Comment: When the little boy of one of the attendants saw Jennifer in her dress, he said, "Look Momma, it's Cinderella".

Of all the Gin Joints in all the world..........

Today I went to see my Doctor in Clearlake. She is sending me to Ophtalmologist Greg Clariday. I went to see him last year and he found the beginnings of Macular Degeneration in my eyes. Well, this has suddenly become a problem in both my eyes. When I look at straight lines (example: telephone wires) they have either a distorted spot, or they are wavy. I also am having a hard time focusing on certain things. Anyway, that is not the Gin Joint Story (as in Casablanca) This is: Phillip and I arrived at the Doctor's Office at 8:15am, Wednesday. He pulled into the first vacant parking spot. I looked at the car next to us, told Phillip he could not park in this space. The car next to us belonged to my Ex-husband. We moved. Now bear in mind: He lives in Nacogdoches; There are 12 months in a year; 22 available days in a month, 8 hours a day. What are the chances. One lobby, one checkout place and his Doctor is my Doctor's husband. Anyway, I somehow managed to get in and out (I had an urgent visit) in less than an hour and did not see 'hide or hair' of him and wife #5. As we were leaving, Phillip asked if I saw him. He said he had seen him come out to use the Restroom and spoke to him. They had a long talk and Phillip told him about us. I said I was glad he told him and asked how he looked. Phillip started laughing and said he did not really see him at all. It was a joke. I hit him with the newspaper and started laughing also. We laughed about the joke all day.

Grannie is 69 !!!

Happy Birthday to Me, Happy Birthday to Me, Happy Birthday to Meeeeeee, Happy Birthday to Me. (and many more) Today I am 69 yrs old. I received my first gift from Tiffinys today. It was a beautiful round porcelain jewelry container. I am sooooo "Hi Maintenance" ! The gift came from Rusty, Nett, Chris, Jenn & Mark. It has bees on it and is very pretty. One of my nicknames is "BEE". My sister, Dee, is bringing me a Jelly Roll Cream Cheeze cake, as is a tradition. The tradition is " If you don't bring me a cake on my birthday (JRCCC) I will never forgive you." John and Melinda are here and they are leaving today to take a load of stuff to their house in Bryan. My present from them is leaving Abbie here with me. I have talked to Phillip, Darrell, Dilcia, Susie and Dee. My Mother usually sent me a card with $1.00 enclosed. I really miss my Mom. I was very lucky to have her for so many years. I miss her everyday.

Tookie's Lunch With Friends

Had lunch with Ruth (Jenkins) Hutchins, Nelda Joyce (Crawford) and Phillip. Hamburger and Onion Rings are wonderful at this little restaurant in Kemah. Ruth is Phillip's sister and Joyce is a former friend from Highlands that graduated with Doris and my first husband and father of my children, Arthur Lee Courtney. Had a good visit remembering old times and old friends. Getting ready to watch the All Star Game.

4th of July

This is the first 4th of July that I did not go somewhere and see fireworks. Weather was bad and all my Grandchildren were somewhere else. Bummer
